After her divorce, Ella Corbin moves into a cheap old apartment in an unfamiliar city. The mail, the phone calls, the visitors are all still meant for the woman who disappeared without a trace seven months ago — and on the kitchen wall hangs her wall calendar, open to a day long past. To finally find some peace and make the apartment her own, Ella starts checking off the old appointments.
